The Soul-Powered Marketing Manifesto

  • Don’t be afraid to be seen. Don’t be the least bit embarrassed about what you do, who you are, what you offer, or what you charge. (If and when the shame strikes, you feel it, work through it, and move on. You don’t let it stop you.)
  • Be vulnerable, raw, and real.
  • Be an unapologetic badass at what you do. Don’t make yourself small to make other people feel comfortable.
  • Be willing to repel the wrong people in order to attract the right people.
  • Deal with the haters when they come.
  • Be in business to help people and to make money. Don’t exploit anyone, including yourself.
  • Market at your edge, but never do anything that makes you feel sleazy, slimy, or gross.
  • Provide value for free that gets results for your followers before they ever buy from you.
  • Commit to failing. Fail, and fail, and fail until you succeed. Don’t fail and give up.
  • Don’t be everything to everybody. Be yourself for your people.
  • Make a specific offer. Make one offer at a time.
  • Constrain. Instead of sort of following lots of strategies, fully follow one strategy from beginning to end.
  • Be consistent. Consistency creates momentum.
  • Change your thoughts about marketing. Instead of thinking, I really hate marketing, try: I love reaching my tribe. I’m so glad I can help people for free. Marketing is a way to be of service.
  • Hire professional help where you struggle most.
  • Study with the best.
